Copyright Claims & Content ID

If you receive a copyright claim for music used from free-stock-music.com, please REPORT it to us. We will assist you in resolving it.

On free-stock-music.com, we offer two types of tracks depending on how they are managed in the YouTube Content ID system. Understanding the difference will help you choose the right music for your project and avoid unnecessary issues.

1. Tracks NOT registered in Content ID ( marked with a icon in the listing)

These tracks are not enrolled in the YouTube Content ID system.

  • In normal use, you should not receive copyright claims
  • No channel whitelisting or claim management is required
  • You can safely use them in personal and commercial projects (with proper credit)

The only rare exception is if a third party unlawfully distributes the music and attempts to register it in Content ID. This type of abuse is increasingly uncommon, as platforms have improved their verification systems and monitoring processes, making it much harder to submit unauthorized material.

Note: If you want the safest and simplest option, choose tracks marked with the icon.

2. Tracks registered in Content ID ( no icon in the listing)

These tracks are managed through the YouTube Content ID system. You may receive a copyright claim in the following cases:

  • The required artist credit is missing from your video description
  • The artist has specific usage restrictions for certain types of content (in rare cases)

Important:

  • Claims are usually automated and not a strike
  • They can be released once proper credit is added

Common situations

1. Credit added after publishing: If you add the artist credit after uploading your video, a claim may already be triggered. Contact us and we will assist you in releasing it.

2. Upload still in progress: Sometimes Content ID scans your video before you finish editing the description. If this happens, simply reach out — we’ll help resolve it.
